Pi Beta Phi Members Make Their Mark for Literacy!

Pi Beta Phi’s Fraternity Day of Service is held annually on March 2, uniting Pi Phi members across the U.S. and Canada in efforts to raise awareness about the importance of literacy. This year, Pi Phis participated in the 2nd annual “Make Your Mark for Literacy” campaign in partnership with First Book.  Alumnae organizations, collegiate chapters and their communities decorated bookplates with the goal of generating 50,000 books.  For every bookplate decorated, one child will receive a brand-new book from First Book.

To celebrate this year’s day of service, Pi Beta Phi’s Lake Oswego-Dunthorpe Oregon Alumnae Club met at Borders Books in Bridgeport Village. The Cat in the Hat came along, and everyone colored bookplates to place in new books for the Fraternity’s donation in partnership with First Book. It was great fun and they had a great turn out!  Check out the video below to see Pi Phis in action!
