New Volunteer Opportunity: Registration Coordinators Connect Programs with First Book Resources

Nov05
2009
Written by Nicole T.

Recently First Book launched a new volunteer opportunity for individuals wanting to get involved with First Book. Registration Coordinators help us connect with the estimated 300,000 programs serving disadvantaged children nationwide providing them access to First Book’s resources.

Here’s what one group told us:

We bring books to children in need in shelters and those waiting for a permanent home. These children do not have the comforts of a mom and dad to put them to sleep at night or to read them a bedside story. We can provide a beautiful book for them to read at night hoping to give them sweeter dreams and hopes for the future.

Registration Coordinators help us reach even more programs serving children waiting for books. You can get started today by joining in the Registration Coordinator Challenge. The three coordinators who register the most groups by November 16th will receive a $250 Borders Gift Card to give to a program that they’ve registered.

Thank you to all of our Registration Coordinators who are helping us connect kids with books! Go to www.firstbook.org/volunteer to learn about more opportunities to volunteer with First Book.
