As part of our continuing celebration of Children’s Book Week, First Book recently had the pleasure of speaking with Megan McDonald, author of the wildly popular Judy Moody series in addition to the new series about Judy Moody’s little brother “Stink.” Megan is also getting high praise for Ant and Honeybee: What a Pair! The Judy Moody books have been received critical acclaim with awards ranging from Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year to an International Reading Association Children’s Choice.

As the youngest of five daughters, Megan has a tremendous wealth of source material for her books. She has an affinity for the challenges of young girls and an appreciation for their resourcefulness and resilience. And while Megan maintains that she, too, can be moody, that was not evident on this podcast.

We appreciate Megan’s time and we thank her publisher Candlewick Press for coordinating this interview. Please check back every day this week for new podcasts in honor of Children’s Book Week.

    Interview Length: 22:38
