Target and First Book Make Some Noise in School Libraries!

October 5th, 2009 by Mary Beth F. · 2 Comments · Book Recipients, First Book Events, Marketplace

Target logoFall has officially arrived, and with that marks the launch of the 2009 Target Volunteer School Library Makeover!  Target is once again teaming up with First Book to provide books for school library projects across the country through the Target Volunteer School Library Makeover.

Throughout September and October, Target Volunteers will award more than 1,600 Title I schools across the country new books and at many schools will provide volunteer help to shelve new books, organize, clean and more.  In support of this project, Target has partnered with First Book to provide a $500 credit on the First Book Marketplace to each participating school.  The librarians and educators have selected books that best meet the needs of their school.

I’m a library media specialist at McCann Technical High School in North Adams, Massachusetts. How do I submit my library for a Target Makeover?

Through the Target Volunteers School Library Makeover, each participating Target store selects a local school to participate in the campaign. There is no school application process for the initiative.
