In December, Build-A-Bear Workshop graciously hosted First Book Recipient Groups for three reading parties. These reading events, held in Indianapolis, Austin and Salt Lake City, celebrated the new book published by Build-A-Bear entitled Holly and Hal Moose: An Uplifting Christmas Adventure. Holly and Hal are a dynamic sibling duo, and take children on an adventure to help save Christmas!
Our Recipient Groups visited a Build-A-Bear Workshop store and were greeted by the live Holly and Hal Moose. The children got autographs from Holly and Hal, and were read excerpts of the story. The children’s faces were glowing as they were each handed their very own copy of the book and a plush animal to take home!
After the Indianapolis event, we received such a heart-warming letter from Maria Wright of the Francis W. Parker Montessori, which we wanted to share:
“I just want you to know how much our 3rd graders enjoyed their experience at Build-A-Bear Workshop. They are still talking about it. I was amazed at how much they enjoyed the holiday book. They would report to me daily what they had read and what they thought would happen….Many [of our children] would not have had an opportunity to go to Build-A-Bear.”
What an impact this event had on their lives! Thank you, Build-A-Bear, for helping children celebrate the joy of reading this holiday!

Cute bears. I have the same one, her name is Mimi. I love Build A Bear so much, I have 16 of them! That sure is a lot of Build A Bears! I hope they all enjoy their bears! Hugs, JennaGamer619
