First Book and Lunchables are Helping Children Reach their Reading Potential

September 15th, 2008 by Diane N. · No Comments

The following is a guest post from The Lunchables Team. Below, Cheyenne Givens, 8, puts a pair of “head boppers” on Lori Loughlin at an event to announce the Lunchables Million Page Mission. Loughlin, star of CW’s new “90210″ series and mother of three, read a new book, Adventures in the Stars, to thirty local kids and encouraged parents to read to their children in order to help them reach their full potential in and out of the classroom.

Oscar Mayer Lunchables has teamed up with First Book and celebrity mom Lori Loughlin, star of the CW’s new “90210” series, to launch the Lunchables Million Page Mission.
The Mission encourages children and parents nationwide to read 100 pages together during this back-to-school season. For every parent that pledges to read with their children, the Lunchables team will donate $1 up to $10,000 to First Book to help provide 4,000 new books to children in need.

The event was launched at the Air & Space Gallery of the California Science Center in Los Angeles on September 12, when Lunchables, First Book and Lori Loughlin read to children from a local First Book program.

The Lunchables team has created a fun free downloadable children’s book, Adventures in the Stars. Loughlin also wrote a special foreword for the book and signed copies for children at the event.

Visit Lunchablesmom.com or www.firstbook.org/lunchables to join the mission and download a free copy of the book!
