Americans and many others around the world have Scriptophobia, the fear of writing in public. This perhaps explains the lack of a well hand-written letter. What does your handwriting say about you? It is a question rarely asked these days, particularly in a world dependent on the instant gratification of email or a text messages. Recently, I began hand-writing letters to a friend because she does not have daily access to email. I have found writing a letter is like getting into a good book - the beginning is often difficult to start, but by the end, it is hard to put down the pen. So, next time you want to send an email to say hello, try getting out a pen to hand-write the note. You just might like it!
