On Friday June 1st, author Michael Buckley spent an hour at the First Book booth at BookExpo America, signing copies of the first book in the Sisters Grimm series, The Fairy Tale Detectives.

After the people in the initial line dispersed with their signed copies in hand, those of us staffing the booth got to spend some time with Michael and learn what a truly witty, caring and terrific person he is. It really was delightful to see people walk by, see the curiosity on their face as they came over to investigate who the author was and countless times see the faces of so many grown people light up as they exclaimed “Oh the Sisters Grimm! I LOVE these books!”

His popular series has won fans of all ages, not just the target grade 4-6 audience. And he won some new fans in the staff of First Book by kindly autographing the signing table itself with the candid statement “First Book Rules!” We share your opinion, Michael, and thank you again for your generosity and wit.
