Wednesday, April 25th-

Having been this way before, Erin and I are adamant that we must fit time into our schedule for a Boise tradition, Goldy’s Breakfast Bistro. This hip, delicious restaurant is a great way to start the day off right. After checking in with our fearless leader, James, and giving him an update on our last few days of meetings and travel, we were off to Twin Falls.

Along the way we passed the actual Oregon Trail, which brought back fond memories of shooting prairie dogs and trying to avoid dysentery on what was one of our first computer games. Seriously though, thinking about the settlers travelers over these hills in covered wagons, makes the monotony of the hours on the road in our comfortable vehicle seems like splendid “Bliss” (which ironically, is a town in Idaho that we just passed).

Upon arriving into Twin Falls, and after maneuvering our way on the one way streets, circling the block a time (or two) we found the little white house better known as the office of the United Way of Magic Valley. There we met with two very enthusiastic ladies that will be working diligently to gather new folks in the Twin Falls area to start what could become our 14th Idaho Advisory Board.

After a pit stop at the local Mexican restaurant we were on the road again to Gooding to meet with the Advisory Board there. The Board had great ideas and stories to share with us, and were in the process of planning a fundraising event for their county fair. We just wish that we will be around to enjoy a plate of their home cooked specialties.

The day isn’t over yet, as we head up into the mountains for a dinner meeting with First Book-Blaine County in the Sun Valley region. We’ll be sure to fill you in on more of our adventures in the morning…
