Available now in the cereal aisle at a store near you! Look for special-edition Cheerios boxes featuring illustrations by award-winning children’s book author and illustrator, Eric Carle On the back of the cereal box you will find trivia questions that will keep everyone at the table thinking through breakfast. (Just what was Mr. Watson dreaming of in Mercy Watson to the Rescue?)
The special-edition box is part of the 5th anniversary celebration of the Cheerios Spoonfuls of Stories program. We invite you to join in the fun by taking part in the Cheerios Book Donation Challenge! This challenge encourages you and your child to have some fun answering questions about your favorite children’s books while helping to place new books into the hands of children in need.
Now through June 16th, take the trivia challenge online. For every question you and your child answer correctly, you’ll get the chance to vote for the state that you’d like to see receive new copies of The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle. The top 5 vote-getting states will each receive 20,000 new books for local children, totaling 100,000 books for children nationwide!
Check back often, as new questions will be added to the site each week! And, keep a close eye here on the blog, as we’ll be featuring sample questions from the trivia challenge throughout the coming weeks. So, go ahead and take the challenge and spread the word! Good afternoon I am in a media class and I wanted to talk about this subject. My mom is a teacher and I know about how kids don’t have books so it affects me. So I was wondering if we could get kids to donate who we could give the books to. I live here in Tucson, Arizona. Thank you very much.
