Recently, First Book-Greater Richmond held its inaugural “First Book Fall Classic Golf Tournament” at the Richmond Country Club. The Advisory Board started the planning in August and with excellent teamwork, everything came together in time for the event. The Board intends this golf tournament to be their annual signature event.

There were 29 corporate sponsors and 27 teams participated (4 players per team). Local businesses and individuals were recruited as sponsors either at various levels (Gold, Silver, Bronze) or for a specific aspect of the tournament. As a Tournament Sponsor, a company or individual could sponsor designated holes, a putting contest, closest-to-pin contest, beverage carts, raffle prizes, hold-in-one contest, and dinner or lunch.

First Book-Greater Richmond raised over $15,000 from the tournament. All who participated enjoyed the day and agreed that it was a huge success for the Board and for the community.
