We have great news to report! Just last week First Book was recognized domestically and internationally with two very exciting awards.
For the fourth straight year, First Book was named a winner of Fast Company Magazine and Monitor Group’s Social Capitalist Award. The awards were announced in the latest copy of Fast Company Magazine, which features forty nonprofits, or “social entrepreneurs,” based in the US that are using creativity and business strategies to revolutionize the social sector. Look for the fantastic cover story on newsstands now — we’re on page 80.
The Fast Company honor came on the heels of an international one from the Geneva-based Schwab Foundation, which named First Book President Kyle Zimmer the Outstanding Social Entrepreneur of the Year in the United States. The Foundation conducts an exhaustive search every year for the leading social entrepreneurs in each of over forty countries to join the Foundation’s global network.
Everyone at First Book could not be more thrilled. Such tremendous recognition is a testament not only to our work but to the ongoing efforts of all our supporters — including you! — and will help us gain the visibility needed to bring our vision to new heights.
We hope you’ll take the time to support Fast Company’s commitment to the social sector in return by taking advantage of a unique limited-time offer. Now through the end of December, for every gift subscription purchased online, Fast Company will make a donation to First Book — generating a brand new book for a child in need. Buy a year-long subscription for your favorite entrepreneur today!
