As some of you might already know, First Book has been honored with two highly prestigious awards in the last month. Firstly, our President and co-founder, Kyle Zimmer, was named Social Entrepreneur of the Year in the United States by the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship. Kyle will be attending an awards ceremony in early 2007 and will also be invited to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Secondly, Fast Company magazine has awarded First Book their Social Capitalist Award for 2006. This is the 4th year in a row that First Book has received this honor, and we were given an A+ rating for our work. We are both thrilled and thankful for the hard work and support of all our volunteers and friends, without whom none of this would be possible.
