Borders Helps to Spread Cheer this Holiday Season

Many of you will remember that First Book teamed up with Borders last year for a holiday giving promotion. In just four weeks, we raised more than $460,000 for First Book’s local efforts — wahoo! All of those funds were distributed to more than 550 nonprofit organizations working with children in need in communities across the country. We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we are teaming up with Borders this year for another holiday donation drive, this time running for two whole months, from October 31st through December 31st.
Like last year, the 2006 holiday promotion will enable Borders, Borders Express, and Waldenbooks customers to make point-of-sale donations to benefit First Book. Donations of $1, $3, $5, or more will be accepted at the registers to help supply new books for children in need. The funds raised through this promotion will be distributed through First Book Advisory Boards in the form of Borders gift cards early in 2007.
We hope you will keep First Book during this holiday season while you take care of your shopping lists at Borders stores.
