		<description>It&#039;s great to see what you&#039;re doing to make books available. I encourage you to visit the Program Locator section of http://www.tutormentorconnection.org to see how we are trying to help volunteer-based tutor/mentor programs grow in high poverty neighborhoods of big cities. These programs would be great distribution points for books, and for volunteers who might read and show a love of reading. Unfortunately, there are too few of these programs in most of the places where they are needed.

I host a conference in Chicago every six months and blog on this topic.  My blog is http://tutormentor.blogspot.com and the conference site is http://www.tutormentorconference.bigstep.com. I hope we can connect so more kids have more books, and more mentors and tutors who model and encourage reading.
