Five Reasons to Take Advantage of the Few Days Remaining to Nominate for the 2006 PageTurner Awards and Get Somebody $5000, $50,000 or $100,000!
Nominations for the 2006 PageTurner Awards close Monday, October 16, 2006. There are only a few days left to nominate booksellers, teachers, librarians, schools, book club organizers, even yourself — anybody who’s out there spreading the joy of reading.
1. Nominating is more important than many 5-minute uses of your time.. The PageTurner Awards are about getting people reading. That’s kind of important, isn’t it? Especially these days?
2. The least a winner can get is $5,000. The most they can win is $100,000. Either way it should make difference in their continued good work with books.
3. The odds of winning are pretty good. This year there will be 44 awards — at least! And we know part of the problem with this world is there simply aren’t enough people out there promoting books and reading. (If there were, we might not need an award to help the situation.) So, many awards + few people out there to win them = good chance of winning!
4. It’s not a difficult 5 minutes. You can do it all online. Click here. Fill in the form. Hit submit. That’s it.
5. I appreciate your time and effort. Yeah, this is me. Please think of somebody — a volunteer, a teacher, a bookseller, a reporter, a book club organizer, anybody — who’s out there infecting people with their passion for books and reading. It will make a difference, I promise.
Gratefully yours,
James Patterson
