Volunteers Needed in New York City!

October 11th, 2006 by Stephanie R. · No Comments

Saturday, October 28, is Make a Difference Day — a national day recognizing volunteerism in America. To celebrate, we are planning a book distribution in New York City in conjunction with the United States Coast Guard and we need your help. From 6 am to 10 am, rain or shine, we need people to carry boxes, unpack and sort books, greet recipient groups, and work one-on-one with the children who attend. This event will take place at South Street Seaport – Pier 16, and there’s the possibility that national media will be on-site to film our activities.

If you are able to volunteer or have any question, please contact Kevin Markham at kmarkham@firstbook.org or by calling toll-free 866-393-1222.
